Understanding the difference between W, YY, and Clover lashes can make a big difference in the final look of a lash set. Each of these lash styles has its own structure, density, and finish, so here’s a quick guide on when and why to reach for each one 🤍

W Lashes: The Boldest Choice
These are definitely the most dramatic option. W Lashes are made with a double layer of flat lashes, giving a super rich, dark lash line that is still lightweight and flexible but definitely darker than most.
In terms of drama level, the effect is similar to using .20 diameter flat lashes on a client who has a crazy amount of natural lashes, if that visual helps at all.
I definitely suggest grabbing these when you want a bolder, denser set. I specifically find myself gravitating towards them when:
• Clients have thick, strong natural lashes and want a dense, very bold look
• Clients have medium to deeper skin tones, since the added darkness complements really well

YY Lashes
These are kinda the perfect middle ground. YY Lashes are essentially a 2D double layered lash, basically the same as the W but minus one lash so it is toned down by about 30% percent. I would say this lash type is ideal for artists who like to create a lot of versatile sets or overall moderate sets that are definitely still slightly on the darker, more dramatic side.
You can darken them up by mixing them with high dimension or diameters in wet lashes, classics, or flats, or make them look more natural by mixing them with lower diameters in wet lashes, classics, or flats as well. They are lightweight enough for most clients to wear comfortably, which is nice.
That said, they are not ideal for very fine natural lashes or clients who prefer extremely soft, natural looks because the base, while still small, can be a bit wide for finer naturals. This is definitely the best seller, which makes sense because it is an in-between option.

Clover Lashes
Clover Lashes are 3D fans with a more tidy structure and a much lighter effect as they are made with .07 diameter lashes instead of .15 diameter flat lashes like the rest. They are built in the same shape as W Lashes but they are much lighter weight and natural looking.
I find myself gravitating towards these for clients with weaker, finer natural lashes, my older clientele, fair skin tones, or anyone who prefers more natural styles. They are also one of my top picks for Anime or very wispy sets where I want my spikes to stand out above the rest.
Clover Lashes are soft enough to add a touch of density across the bottom lash line so the set does not look incomplete, but they never steal the show. I love that they help the spikes stay defined and visible without overpowering the look.
